Milja Laine is a Helsinki based illustrator and visual artist with degrees in contemporary arts and ecology. Nature connection is at the core of her artistic practices.

Laine creates illustrations mainly for nature education materials and magazines. She favors hand-made illustrations using mostly pencils and watercolors in her work.

Laine's personal projects are often photo-based and extended with text or found objects. She recurrently visits themes of otherness, vulnerability, and impermanence.

Since 2012 Laine's illustrations have been published in various education materials, magazines and children's books. Her artwork has been on display in group exhibitions in Helsinki, Oulu and Madrid.
